ST33
Surge
Tester

- 40 MHz sampling rate
detects micro-discharge corona.
- 9-bit resolution
provides high accuracy.
- Internal switching
provides for test polarity inversion.
- Electrically isolated
RS-232/ RS 485/Fiber optic Opt.
- 6 channel multiplexing
allows multiple channel measurements.
The ST33 is a PC based system that
will test electrical windings of motors, actuators and other
electro-magnetic devices. It generates a high voltage, low
current energy pulse across coil winding leads and samples
the resulting waveform. Inter-turn short circuits or
insulation losses can be readily identified by the waveform
analysis.

Test parameters are easily set through
menu based software. Voltage amplitude can be adjusted from
500 to 5,000 volts in 50 volt increments. Sample time is
adjustable from 25 nanoseconds to 800 milliseconds. Waveform
analysis functions include: inductance, waveform amplitude,
zero-crossing time, integral value and differential, spikes
magnification (for micro-corona detection).
Setup and use of the ST33 is
straightforward. First article testing is easily done
through a self-learning function. Waveform information and
test parameters for up to 16 tests are stored in computer
memory; additional test data can be downloaded to the 3.5"
floppy drive. The signal energy is limited to prevent damage
to the coil insulation, but higher energy versions are
available. The ST33 offers advanced testing features in an
easy to use configuration.
